General Job Description
  • Assisting the client and their family in obtaining the best medical care and provide them with clinical support throughout management of their case.
  • Coordinating all medical operations and activities relevant to the case, including the patient, their family, the PMCM, the Medical Specialist Consultants and others according to each specific case.
  • Providing the highest quality service and be professional and cordial at all times, in line with the company’s spirit, vision, service agreement and work regulations.
Responsibilities
  1. To explain the exact nature and added values of our service, while assessing the needs of the patient, understanding and managing the expectations of the patient and / or his family.
  2. To support in retrieving, assembling and organizing all medical reports, documents, test results and information needed to manage the case.
  3. To take thorough and elaborate Intakes and medical updates.
  4. To coordinate all parties involved in the management of the patient’s case: the client and his family, the PMCM, the Medical Specialist Consultants globally, and other medical parties. Schedule meetings and phone calls, confirming their execution.
  5. To oversee the achievement of the clinical plan developed and recommended by the Medix multidisciplinary team.
  6. To continuously update the Head Nurse and Medical Doctor in charge with regards to the status of the medical cases, as well as reporting any significant problem or special situation in need of immediate medical and operational attention to the PMCM and/or the Global Medical Director.
  1. To assist the PMCM’s in the management of the medical cases and the Global Medical Director in the quality control process.
  2. To proactively, and in real-time, identify and monitor the patient and his or hers medical condition and well-being:

a) Change in condition

b)Deterioration or improvement

c)Side effects of conditions or treatments

d)Adverse events

e)Change in general well-being e.g. eating habits, stool habits, sweating, sleeping habits, physical activity, etc…

F)Adverse events (e.g. Polypharmacy – taking several drugs at the same time etc.)

g)Adherence and compliance to treatment

h) Emotional changes and needs

i)Monitoring of patient & family satisfaction

a. Implement Telephone conversations, email correspondence and video chat

b. When patient lives in / or travels to London, NURSE could if relevant personally go along with the patient to his lead face to face consultation and or visit him at the hospital when he is in-patient

9. .Create clinical and admin reports on the cases managed.

10. Assisting in managing each case – registering new information, monitoring decisions and actions of the client regarding the medical case.

11. Confirming that the client receives and understands the medical reports and summary.

12.Guiding and providing clinical information/explanation when needed.

13.Making sure to collaborate with agent and AIA to confirm timetable reliability and level of service as specified in the company’s service agreement.

14.Documenting all interactions with the client and his family in acomputerized case management system as well as a CRM.

15.Assisting with the audit of client satisfaction

16.Ensuring that all compsny’s policies and protocols are followed

17.Pay special attention to accurate, on-going and real-time updating

and reporting of all medical information, interactions and activityon Medix dedicated CRM & EMR systems.

18. Pay special attention to information security at any moment anywhere you are, on-site or off-site as per all company security policies.

Expectations
  1. To preserve a warm, empathetic and supportive relationship with the client and their family, providing availability at alltimes.
  2. To respect the client’s rights, dignity and privacy at all times and maintain patient confidentiality.
  3. Thoroughly understanding the symptoms, the main and secondary diagnosis/conditions of the patient. Take elaborate and thorough Intakes and further medical updates from the patient and his family. Where needed looking it up on-line and further discussing with the PMCM to better understand all medical aspects and plan next steps.
  4. Being able to assess whether you are dealing with any kind of medical emergency that warrants an immediate referral and refer a patient to the A&E.
  5. Go by the SOAP Process: Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan.
  6. Being an integral part of the process of obtaining remote and face to face consultations. Taking active part in the decision-making process and Medix medical recommendations. Nurses need to be able and feel comfortable to challenge the doctor’s (PMCM’s or consultants) opinion and recommendation.
  7. Chase the PMCM’s, doctors, consultants with no fear or mercy at any time of the day and evening. They are just too busy to do things on time and need to be chased. (Emails and SMS’s may be sent BUT phone calls are the most efficient way to chase them).
  8. Nurse must be accountable and fully responsible for every case unrelated to the PMCM’s role, accountability and responsibility.
  9. Maximizing the health of client by increasing healthcare education and promoting wellness
  10. Oversee the satisfaction of client and family with the service
  11. The NURSE must take into consideration the diversity of the people she will communicate with on a daily basis (eg. cultural differences of patients, consultants etc.)
  12. Improving and facilitating interdisciplinary communication and medical planning.

  2. The NURSE must interpret complex, detailed clinical information and disseminate that information both orally and in written form to others who need to know without distortion or personal judgement.
  3. When talking with PMCM, and local medical team, the NURSE must know all her patients perfectly, be prepared with concise questions and be prepared to answer questions regarding the client condition at any time.
Availability
  1. Working at Medix requires total devotion and commitment to the NURSE’s assigned patients at all times. This is always well explained and determined at the interview and recruitment stage. Every NURSE receives a Medix mobile phone and laptop and has to follow up on urgent phone calls, emails and patient related matters during evening hours and weekends.
  2. When on annual leave/vacation, NURSES need to take their work phone for the purpose of real emergencies and specific questions in case they rise with regards to their patients or tasks (when they are managed by replacement NURSES; However, they will not be required to do on-going routine work or deal with anything that is not urgent.
