Qualification: Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
Experience: Min. 7-8 years of working experience in switchgear design & development jobs or mechanical/ electromechanical design & development jobs.
Skills Requirement:
- Possess rich experience in switchgear full development cycle (AIS/GIS – in-depth working principal of key operation entity such as Switching component, draw-out component, circuit breaking device, enclosure structure and grade level against IP rating and IAF
- In-depth understanding in International standards relevant to design and development of switchgear / key components etc.; and provide precise interpretation for clarify of design concept and direction
- Proficient in AUTOCAD, NX, Inventor & Microsoft Office suites.
- Advanced level in drawing drafting standard & practical geometry tolerance.
- Advanced level in switchgear design methodology, calculation, analysis.
- Advanced level in design for manufacturability, switchgear design standard, switchgear related engineering knowledge, switchgear routine, type testing.
- Excellent technical project & overall team management.
- Excellent time management and problem solving.
- Advanced knowledge on local & overseas market requirements.
- Proficient in analytical & communication skills.
- Willing to travel out of state and overseas.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES.
1. Lead and Manage Primary Design for medium voltage products for AIS & GIS section in
a manner which meets industry standards and enhance quality and product offering
2. Responsible for market penetration for products of AIS & GIS groups by providing all round
technical support on AIS & GIS, technical specifications in compliance with customers’ requirements.
3. Monitor and Control primary design schedule and ensure all design release targets are
100% aligned to Middle Schedule.
4. Control and Manage New Product Design review by ensuring cost effectiveness,
specification compliance, manufacturability, and effective counter measure solution
against challenges.
5. Control and Manage development budget and progress by ensuring product development
timeframe and product cost competitiveness are achieved.
6. To ensure product development specification is aligned to latest trends & technology in
the market.
7. Extensive co-ordination with the type test design team for effective counter measure
directive and quick response-solution to optimize the type test shift strategy.
8. Responsible for the Industrialization of AIS & GIS; and develop an engineering transition
solution between Design & Manufacturing to improve process efficiency.
9. Any other new product development direction and activity decided by the Top
Management shall be prioritized into R&D execution plan accordingly.
10. Responsible to present relevant product development for Double tax exemption.
11. Responsible to manage R&D capitalization requirement in accordance with income tax
department guideline (establish proper record trailing comprising development timesheet,
investment transaction etc.)
12. R&D Lab management (maintenance / equipment repair / calibration)
13. Carry out general managerial roles to ensure compliance with Company’s policies,
develop the talent capability via training to ensure they acquire the necessary skills,
knowledge and competency to carry out their responsibilities and achieve targets, ensure
effective use of Company’s assets, establish good internal & external relationship and
communication and to be a good role model.
14. Responsible for his/ her personal safety and that of all personnel under his/ her authority,
including others who may be affected by the company’s activities.
15. Ensure HIRARC for their departmental processes are conducted and maintained with necessary measures in place.
