Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Provide servant leadership to multiple agile scrum teams developing software on different technology stacks.
Hire, Onboard and mentor group of software developers, QA and other technology staff.
Support self organizing and high performance agile teams responsible for software delivery.
Collaborate with Team leads, software developers and technology leadership to develop processes for technical assessment of prospective candidates in alignment with technology roadmap and vision.
Follow best practices for software engineering in an agile environment
Consistently strive to improve processes and communications
Use leadership skills and knowledge to improve team efficiency.
Collaborate with Scrum masters to create transparency into the software development activities by maintaining the backlog, burndown charts, velocity analysis, etc.
Empower the scrum masters and team leads to be able to manage sprint activities and releases, proactively identifying and resolving impediments to ensure sprints stay on track and project teams remain efficient and effective.
Develop metrics for team leads to be able to conduct effective annual reviews for their direct reports.
Collaborate with peer engineering managers to align technology vision and share successes.
Manage 5-10 direct reports (Team Leads, Architects, QA Leads etc.)
Conduct annual reviews for your direct reports.
Skills/Experience
A minimum of 7 years of hands-on software experience in web based languages and development.
A minimum of 2 years of management/leadership experience, leading and mentoring a team of software engineers building responsive and scalable web applications.
Understanding or familiarity in developing SPA
Fundamental understanding of git, branching, merging and conflict resolution
Experience in best practices for the full software development life cycle, agile methodologies, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Strong verbal and written communication skills,
Strong work ethic and ability to multitask on a sustained basis
