Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Audit Director – Technology, Operations & Emerging Risks to provide strategic leadership across audit activities covering Operations, Digital & Technology, HR, Legal & Compliance, Projects, Transformation and Emerging Risks.

The successful candidate will be part of the Group Internal Audit Leadership Team and will be responsible for delivering independent, objective and forward-looking assurance to senior management and the Board.

Key Responsibilities

Business, Risk & Audit Leadership

• Assess risks related to Operations, Digital & Technology, HR, Legal & Compliance, projects and transformation initiatives.
• Develop and execute a risk-based audit strategy and ensure appropriate audit coverage.
• Understand business strategy, regulatory developments and emerging risks to determine audit priorities.
• Lead audit teams while maintaining independence, objectivity and a strong risk perspective.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Act as a strategic partner to management by providing forward-looking audit insights.
• Identify weaknesses in control environments and recommend improvements.
• Monitor global risk trends and regulatory developments and develop appropriate responses to emerging risks.

Technology, Analytics & Transformation

• Drive the use of data analytics, automation and AI to improve audit effectiveness.
• Develop data-driven audit testing and continuous monitoring capabilities.
• Support the development of audit teams’ capabilities in data analytics and emerging technologies.
• Provide audit oversight for transformation programmes, projects and technology initiatives.

People & Functional Leadership

• Provide inspirational leadership to a global team of auditors.
• Develop and mentor team members and support their professional growth.
• Contribute to the overall Group Internal Audit strategy and roadmap.
• Participate in the development of the Group Internal Audit Plan.
• Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives.
• Demonstrate strong leadership across a global and matrix-driven organization.

Candidate Requirements

• 15+ years of professional experience in audit or other relevant risk, control or governance roles.
• Senior-level experience in Insurance / Reinsurance is highly preferred.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, CIA or equivalent is preferred.
• Proven leadership experience in a global, matrix-driven organization.
• Strong understanding of Risk, Controls, Governance and Audit.
• Strong knowledge of Technology and Operations.
• Experience in transformation programmes and projects.
• Understanding of emerging risks and regulatory developments.
• Experience in data analytics, automation and/or AI within audit is an advantage.
