General Manager – Procurement

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager – Procurement to lead the organization’s procurement and sourcing functions. The incumbent will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, optimizing costs, ensuring timely availability of materials, and driving operational excellence while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead sourcing, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier management activities.
  • Manage procurement of direct and indirect materials, equipment, and services.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers and business partners.
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery schedules, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Finance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Analyze market trends, commodity pricing, and supply risks to develop effective procurement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and statutory regulations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to achieve organizational goals.
  • Prepare procurement budgets, MIS reports, and performance dashboards for senior management.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • MBA/Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain or Operations Management will be preferred.

Experience

  • 15–20 years of progressive experience in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Electrical & Electronics, Industrial Equipment, Engineering, or similar manufacturing industries is preferred.
