About the role
We are currently seeking a Sales Engineer to join us in Ahmedabad based out of our Delhi office. The successful applicant will blend technical expertise with developed sales, tendering and communication skills. They will be customer-focused, able to provide solutions to complex problems, and demonstrate capability to reach strategic and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve continuous sales growth by providing expertise on ComAp products.
- Regularly visit customers and potential customers in India. Maintaining regular discussions and negotiations with customers.
- Maintain the list of important consultants in the region.
- Conduct trainings, visits, and discussions with consultants to get ComAp products specified by them.
- Business development activities including identifying new business opportunities in India
- Assist the General Manager with the setup of the sales plans, forecasting and annual budgeting, including regular updates of sales plans and budgets.
- Regularly report on key sales activities, opportunities, and progress of projects within the CRM system.
- Collect all important information regarding the sales territory – including market share, customers, OEMs, competition. Support and transfer useful market knowledge to applicable ComAp personnel.
- Achieve personal performance targets as well as overall sales targets outlined in budget forecasts.
- As required, provide high level technical support to customers by phone, e-mail, in person and via site visits.
- As required, provide high level technical training for customers on ComAp products
Key Requirements
- Relevant qualification or experience in the electrical field (tertiary qualification in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering or allied field desirable).
- A valid passport (for occasional overseas travel).
- Working knowledge and experience (or an interest) in the power generation field including experience with gensets and electrical switchgears.
- An understanding of electrical systems and electrical power system design and interpretation, including the ability to read Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
- Familiarity with technical specifications and commercial conditions in tender documents, costing and bid preparation.
- A proven track record of achieving sales budgets and targets.
- Experience using CRM’s.
- A structured and planned approach to sales and good commercial acumen.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- ComAp (or similar) product knowledge and system design experience
