About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of IT to lead our organization’s technology transformation and oversee ongoing IT operations. The ideal candidate will drive the migration of our core systems from PHP to Python and move our hosting infrastructure from GoDaddy to Microsoft Azure, while building and leading the internal IT capabilities needed to support future scaling.

This is a strategic leadership role that requires hands-on technical knowledge, project management expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with outsourced development teams and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology Migration & Modernization

Overlook the end-to-end migration of legacy systems from PHP to Python, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth transition.

2. Oversee the infrastructure migration from GoDaddy to Azure, including planning, security, DNS configuration, backups, and cut-over strategies.
3. Work closely with outsourced development partners to ensure deliverables meet technical, security, and business requirements.
4. Define and enforce software architecture principles, coding standards, and deployment processes for the new stack.
5. IT Strategy & Roadmap- Develop and execute the company’s overall IT strategy aligned with business goals.
6. Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that can improve operational efficiency and scalability.
7. Establish a technology roadmap, including automation, integrations, and long-term scalability considerations.

IT Operations & Governance

1. Oversee daily IT operations including infrastructure, cloud environment, cybersecurity, user access, and data protection.
2. Define and implement IT policies, SOPs, and disaster recovery/business continuity plans.
3. Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy and security regulations (e.g., PDPA, ISO27001 if applicable).

�� 4. Team Leadership & Outsourcing Management

Act as the bridge between outsourced development teams and internal management, ensuring clarity, accountability, and timely execution.

Requirements

Education & Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Master’s preferred.
2. 8+ years of IT experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership / Head of IT / CTO role.
3. Proven experience leading system migration projects (e.g., PHP → Python) and cloud migration, preferably to Azure.
4. Experience working with outsourced / offshore development teams.

Technical Skills

1. Strong knowledge of Python, web frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask), and modern backend architecture.
2. Familiarity with PHP, to oversee legacy-to-new transitions effectively.
3. Proficiency with Azure cloud services (App Services, VMs, databases, networking, DNS, security).
4. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), Git workflows.
5. Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance.

Soft Skills

1. Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term execution and long-term planning.
2. Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
3. Strong leadership, vendor management, and problem-solving abilities.
