Job Summary:
The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring efficient and effective management of staff, inventory, and customer service. This role involves managing merchandising, visual merchandising, stock movement, and supervising sales personnel to achieve sales targets and provide an exceptional shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Store Operations:
- Ensure the store is clean, well-organized, and properly staffed.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures.
- Store performance analysis and MIS
- Monitor store performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency.
- Money mapping the floor and identifying hotspot areas of the store
- Daily sales reporting
- Sales target achievement
- Daily cash handling and banking
- Merchandising:
- Plan and execute merchandising strategies to maximize sales.
- Analyze sales data to determine product placement and promotional activities.
- Visual Merchandising:
- Develop and implement visual merchandising plans to enhance store aesthetics.
- Create visually appealing displays that attract customers and drive sales.
- Stay updated with the latest visual merchandising trends and techniques..
- Stock Movement:
- Manage inventory levels and ensure timely stock replenishment.
- Coordinate with suppliers for stock orders and deliveries.
- Conduct regular stock audits and manage discrepancies.
- Analyze stock movement reports to optimize inventory management.
- Supervision of Sales Personnel:
- Recruit, train, and supervise sales staff.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
- Provide coaching and support to ensure high levels of customer service.
- Managing the staff rosters
- Conduct weekly staff briefings on ATV, UPT, AVU, Conversions, Growth, etc.
- Customer Service:
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints.
- Ensure a positive shopping experience for all customers.
- Implement customer loyalty programs and promotional activities.
- Retail Software System:
- Update and maintain the retail software system to ensure accurate data.
- Train staff on the use of the retail software system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in retail management.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift merchandise.
