Designation:   Chemical Production & Warehouse Supervisor

Location:  Muscat location

Experience: 5+ yrs

Position: Permanent

Department: Production & Operations

Reporting: Plant / Operations Manager

Job Purpose:

To supervise daily chemical production, blending, filling, and packaging operations while ensuring safety, quality control, and efficiency. The role also oversees warehouse management, including raw material storage, finished goods dispatch, inventory accuracy, and compliance with hazardous material handling procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Supervision
  • Plan and schedule daily/weekly production batches based on production orders and demand forecasts.
  • Supervise chemical blending, mixing, and filling operations to meet production targets.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety standards, and ISO/QC protocols.
  • Coordinate with the QC/QA team for in-process and final product testing.
  • Monitor process parameters (temperature, pH, viscosity, density, etc.) and ensure proper documentation.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  1. Safety and Compliance
  • Enforce plant safety rules and PPE compliance among production and warehouse staff.
  • Ensure adherence to MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and chemical compatibility guidelines.
  • Support audits (internal/external, HSE, ISO, or customer).
  • Conduct routine safety toolbox talks and risk assessments.
  1. Warehouse Management
  • Supervise the receiving, labeling, and proper storage of raw materials and finished products.
  • Maintain accurate stock records using ERP or manual systems (FIFO/FEFO).
  • Coordinate dispatch and logistics in line with customer delivery schedules.
  • Ensure segregation of hazardous materials and proper labeling as per GHS standards.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, spill containment, and housekeeping standards.
  1. Quality & Documentation
  • Ensure proper documentation of batch sheets, production logs, and material movement.
  • Support QC for product sampling, retention management, and test result verification.
  • Investigate non-conformities and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain calibration records for production equipment and storage tanks.
  1. Team Supervision
  • Lead and motivate operators, helpers, and warehouse assistants.
  • Train team members on SOPs, chemical handling, and emergency response.
  • Plan shift schedules and manage manpower based on operational priorities.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or related field.

Experience: Minimum 5 years in chemical manufacturing, blending, or industrial production (preferably oilfield, water treatment, or specialty chemicals).

Technical Knowledge:

  • Chemical mixing/blending processes
  • Material compatibility and hazardous classification
  • Warehouse and inventory systems (ERP, SAP, or manual)
  • ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / HSE procedures

Certifications (Preferred):

  • HAZMAT / Chemical Handling
  • IOSH / NEBOSH
  • Forklift Operation or WHMIS (if applicable)
