Job Purpose
The State Head is responsible for driving sales, expanding distribution, managing Sales Managers ,ASM and ensuring revenue growth within the assigned region /Multiple State’s .The role involves strategic planning, distributor and dealer management, sales forecasting, maintain gross margin as per company standard, team supervision, and ensuring brand visibility in the aftermarket segment & focusing on development of weak markets
KEY RESPONSBILITIES
Sales Strategy & Target Achievement:
-
- Develop and implement a sales strategy to achieve revenue and market share targets in the region.
- Set and monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for sales team (State Head, ASM, Sale Executive etc.)
- Ensuring the correct product mix sales for maintaining the margins
- Ensure Manpower cost Optimization
- Ensure execution of business development plans to increase secondary market penetration.
- · Track sales performance vs. targets and take corrective actions to drive growth.
- · Preparation of Sales Schemes proposal slab wise & r product wise with competitor analysis.
- · Accurate sales forecasting for focus products
- · Finalize sales plan for new products launched
- · Ensure each sale executive will do visit per month as per plan .
- · Finalize sales plan for existing product categories & new products launched
- Maintain Dealer database with complete dealer information & product category preference.
Distributor & Dealer Network Expansion & Management:
- Visit and manage dealers and distributors to resolve concerns, complaints if any. Maintain ACTIVE Dealer nos.
- Focus on active dealers sales achievement.
- Monitor collections, ensuring timely payments as per company credit policy
- Appoint new distributors & dealers where necessary; support or replace underperforming ones.
- Work on weak dealers to
- Manage pending order issues by investigating history coordinating with customer connect department.
- Strengthen relationships with key distributors and retailers to ensure proper stock availability and sales growth
Sales Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Supervise, guide, and motivate State Heads, Area Sales Managers (ASMs) and Sales Executives to improve performance.
- Conduct weekly and monthly sales reviews with State Head, ASMs to track achievements regarding Sales & collections against target and execution plans.
- Monitor the daily visit plans, secondary market coverage, and sales conversions of the sales team.
- Organize training sessions for the sales team, distributors, and retailers to improve product knowledge and sales effectiveness.
- Ensure sales team is working as per sales SOP.
- Finalize sales plan for liquidating dead stock.
Secondary Market Development & Branding:
- Oversee and ensure regular field visits by ,ASMs and Sales Executives to retail Hardware shops. (Beat plan adherence)
- Develop and execute branding and marketing campaigns, including architect’s meetings, carpenter Meetings product demos, and promotional activities.
- Ensure carpenter engagement under the “Safalta Program.”
- Ensure brand visibility through shop branding, POS materials, and localized marketing initiatives.
- Provide accurate product, pricing, and promotional information to customers and stakeholders
Budget Management
- Conduct Branding & Marketing Activities within budget finalised.
- Maintain & enhancing regional gross profitability by minimizing expenses and maximizing product sales.
Market Intelligence Analysis & Business Development:
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and customer needs.
- Analyse competitor pricing, product positioning, and promotional strategies.
- Provide feedback to the product development and marketing teams for improving product offerings.
Sales Operations & Market Coverage
- Monitor both primary and secondary sales using sales Tools (DMS,SFA)
- Approve and track visit plans of field teams and conduct joint visits with ASMs
- Monitor performance at key outlets and projects across the region
- Ensure orders are taken for QUBA products and follow up on timely fulfillment.
- Ensure successful new product launches and strategic product placement at the dealer/distributor level.
Order Processing, Payment Collection & Inventory Management
- Ensure MSL is maintained at distributor end & maintain ordering cycle of one order per week .
- Ensure timely payment collection from distributors and adherence to credit policies
Reporting & Coordination with Management
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on sales performance, competitor activities, and market trends. Reports on market penetration (display), service cost
- Provide insights on market demand, distributor performance, and operational challenges.
Category wise focus on sales
- Ensure sale of brand wise/Categories focus ,& successful Product launch
