Location: Chennai-Remote

JOB PURPOSE

 Assignment: Sales

・ English/Hindi

・ Japanese language skills are not important

– Description: New customer development sales and market research for our products

・ Sales (new customers): Email, phone calls, visits, proposals, information gathering

・ Market research: Email, phone calls, visits, information gathering, documentation

・ New market development: Entering new markets, taking market share from competitors

・ Accompanying business trips: Accompanying Japanese on business trips, interpreting, explaining following up, etc.

– Details of business activities

・ Market research and sales of industrial machinery (decanter centrifuges) and its components for the increasingly active petrochemical industry sector in India

・ Our products are widely used in resin manufacturing processes and have 80% market share in Asia for PVC production applications

・ Since petrochemical plant construction plans are carried out over a medium- to long-term span of 5-6 years, you will directly approach key personnel in the project and conduct activities to increase the probability of adoption of processes using our products.

・ Prefer someone who has connections to the industry, as direct negotiation with the settlement authority of the target company is key. (Knowledge of machinery is even more desirable)

・ Recruitment will take place in the Chennai office, but the main focus will be on sales to clients in and around

Mumbai and other locations on a travel basis. Therefore, it is not necessary to live in Chennai. (Remote workis possible.)

‣ Desirable Attributes of Applicants:

– Education: college degree or higher. No major department specified.

– Skills:

・ Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

・ Experience and knowledge of sales/market research, especially new customer development.

・ Communication skills to be able to catch conversations with foreigners (Japanese) and Indians.

– Preferred business career of the successful candidate

・ Extensive experience in sales to the petrochemical industry

*Familiarity with procurement departments and upper management of major companies (Reliance, etc.)

・ Strong knowledge of production equipment and machinery

*Experience in centrifuge sales (Alfa Laval, Andritz, Broadbent, GEA, etc.)

‣ Supplemental information

– Outsourcing contract to be signed as

・“Outsourcing Staff” of Tomoe Engineering Co. from October to December 2024, and to be appointed as a regular employee anew after the establishment of the local subsidiary.

・The company will hire the staff as “outsourced staff” of Tomoe Engineering in October-December 2024 and transfer them after the establishment of the local subsidiary.

・The local subsidiary (Chennai) is scheduled to start operations in January-February 2025. Work will begin as a regular employee at the same time as the start of operations.

・The candidate will work at the Chennai Representative Office or remotely until the establishment of the local subsidiary.
