Job Responsibilities

Job Summary:
The Metallurgical Engineer will be responsible for analysing, developing,
and improving the metallurgical properties of materials used in welding
accessories manufacturing. This role involves optimizing metal
processing techniques, ensuring quality control, and collaborating with
production teams to enhance product performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Material Selection & Development
 Select appropriate metals and alloys for welding accessories
based on mechanical and chemical properties.
 Conduct material testing, failure analysis, and metallurgical
evaluations to enhance product durability.
 Develop new metallurgical processes to improve product quality
and cost efficiency.
2. Process Optimization & Quality Control
 Oversee heat treatment, metal forming, and welding processes to
ensure compliance with industry standards.
 Monitor metallurgical properties during production to maintain
product consistency and quality.
 Investigate defects, root causes of material failures, and
recommend corrective actions.
 Collaborate with the QA/QC team to establish metallurgical testing
procedures.
3. Research & Development
 Work on the development of advanced materials for better welding
performance.
 Implement automation and innovative metallurgical techniques to
enhance productivity.
 Keep updated with the latest metallurgical advancements and
integrate best practices into the manufacturing process.
4. Compliance & Documentation
 Ensure all metallurgical processes comply with industry standards
like ISO, ASTM, and other regulatory guidelines.
 Maintain technical documentation related to metallurgical analysis,
process improvements, and test reports.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
 Work closely with Production, R&D, and Quality teams to improve
manufacturing processes.
 Provide technical guidance to engineers and supervisors on
metallurgical concerns.
 Assist procurement in selecting raw materials by evaluating
suppliers’ material quality.
Qualifications & Skills:
 Education: B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Metallurgical
Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields.
 Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing
environment (preferably in welding accessories, metal fabrication,
or allied industries).
 Technical Skills:
o Knowledge of metallurgy, material testing, and failure
analysis.
o Familiarity with welding techniques and heat treatment
processes.
o Experience with metallurgical lab equipment (spectroscopy,
hardness testing, etc.).
o Understanding of industry standards like ASTM, ASME,
AWS, and ISO.
o Proficiency in CAD software for material simulation
(preferred).
 Soft Skills:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
o Effective communication and teamwork skills.
o Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.
Preferred Certifications (Optional):
 Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or equivalent.
 NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) certification.
