Reports To: Director of Operations

Working time : 9.30 AM to 5.00 PM

Exp- Minimum  : 10+ yrs

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing the highest quality materials, equipment, and services at the most competitive prices. The Purchasing Manager will develop and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery to support our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • · Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to ensure a reliable supply of materials, equipment, and services that meet quality standards and budgetary constraints.
  • · Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers. Conduct supplier audits, performance reviews, and negotiate terms and conditions to achieve optimal pricing and service levels.
  • · Cost Control: Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain risks. Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
  • · Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Address and resolve any contract disputes or issues.
  • · Inventory Management: Collaborate with production and inventory management teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, avoid stockouts, and minimize excess inventory.
  • · Quality Assurance: Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that purchased materials meet quality specifications and standards. Address any quality issues with suppliers promptly.
  • · Forecasting and Planning: Utilize demand forecasts and production schedules to plan and execute procurement activities. Ensure timely delivery of materials to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • · Vendor Development: Develop and implement vendor development programs to enhance supplier capabilities and foster long-term partnerships.
  • · Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Conduct performance reviews and provide training as needed.
  • · Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance metrics. Generate and present regular reports to senior management.

 

Qualifications:

  • · Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) are preferred.
  • · Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role within a manufacturing environment, with at least [X] years in a managerial position.
  • · Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms and conditions.
  • · Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • · Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, team members, and senior management.
  • · Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • · Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • · Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and relevant regulations.
