Job Description
The Vice President of Operations – Logistics is responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations of the organization. This role ensures efficient transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and distribution strategies that align with business goals, customer satisfaction, and cost-efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a deep understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
�� Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute logistics strategies to support business growth, cost control, and
customer satisfaction.
Lead and manage all logistics functions including transportation, warehousing, order
fulfillment, and distribution.
Optimize supply chain processes using data, analytics, and logistics technologies.
Build and manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, carriers, and
suppliers.
Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation laws, regulations, and safety
standards.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for logistics operations.
Drive continuous improvement through KPIs, cost savings initiatives, and operational
innovation.
Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, procurement, IT, and finance teams.
Lead logistics planning for seasonal demand, new product launches, or geographic
expansion.
Build, develop, and mentor high-performing logistics and operations teams.
✅ Required Skills:
14+ years of progressive experience in logistics and operations leadership, including 5+
years in a senior/executive role.
Deep knowledge of logistics systems, transportation modes (road, sea, air), and
warehouse operations.
Proven track record of managing large-scale logistics networks and 3PL relationships.
Strong understanding of inventory optimization, route planning, and distribution
management.
Experience with ERP/WMS/TMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan, Blue Yonder).
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Analytical mindset with experience in cost control, budgeting, and performance metrics
(KPIs).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, and customer-focused environment.
⭐ Preferred Skills:
Six Sigma, Lean, or other operational excellence certifications.
Experience with international logistics and global supply chains.
Familiarity with sustainability initiatives in logistics (green logistics, carbon footprint
reduction).
