Job Description
The CCO ensures the organization complies with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards in
the energy sector. This includes environmental, safety, and operational regulations. The role
involves overseeing compliance programs, managing regulatory risks, and fostering a culture of
integrity and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the company’s compliance strategy and framework.
Monitor and ensure adherence to industry-specific regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, FERC).
Conduct risk assessments and internal audits.
Interface with regulatory bodies and lead inspections or investigations.
Develop and deliver compliance training.
Report compliance matters to the CEO and Board.
Skills:
Deep knowledge of energy sector regulations (environmental, trade, labor, anti-bribery,
etc.).
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
Proven track record in managing regulatory audits or investigations.
Ability to influence C-suite and board-level stakeholders.
Experience:
15+ years in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles; at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Experience in the energy industry is mandatory (oil & gas, renewables, or utilities).
