Job Description
The Vice President of Construction leads and manages all construction operations across multiple projects. This role involves strategic planning, project oversight, budget control, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The VP collaborates with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver successful construction outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all construction projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and execute construction strategies aligned with company goals.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation across projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, local codes, and quality expectations.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Mentor and manage project managers and site leaders.
- Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Leadership & Team Management – Proven ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strategic Planning – Expertise in setting long-term goals and aligning operations.
- Project Management – Strong command of project lifecycles, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
- Construction Knowledge – In-depth understanding of building methods, codes, contracts, and materials.
- Communication & Negotiation – Strong verbal and written communication; skilled in stakeholder negotiations.
- Problem Solving – Ability to identify risks and implement timely solutions.
- Technology Proficiency – Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, AutoCAD).
- Regulatory Compliance – Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
