Designation: Head of R & D and Application Lab

Location: Panchkula

Exp : 10 yrs

DEPARTMENT – Chemicals

REPORT TO : Director

Job Responsibilities

  1. Research & Product Development:

    • Lead R&D initiatives in PU and PVC coatings for synthetic leather, technical textiles, and functional coatings.

    • Develop new formulations and improve existing ones for enhanced performance, sustainability, and compliance with global regulations.

    • Stay updated on industry trends, including eco-friendly and low-VOC alternatives.

  2. Application Lab Setup & Management:

    • Establish and oversee an advanced application lab for formulation testing and optimization.

    • Conduct application trials ensuring performance attributes like adhesion, flexibility, and chemical resistance.

    • Implement best practices in lab operations and compliance.

  3. Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

    • Provide technical assistance to customers and internal teams to optimize application processes.

    • Collaborate with production teams for seamless scale-up of formulations.

  4. Compliance & Sustainability:

    • Ensure compliance with REACH, RoHS, VOC limits, and other industry standards.

    • Develop sustainable and eco-friendly coating solutions.

  5. Leadership & Collaboration:

    • Lead a team of scientists and technicians in R&D and application development.

    • Work closely with business teams, sales, and manufacturing to align R&D efforts with business objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Master’s/Ph.D. in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in R&D and application development for PU/PVC coatings.

  • Technical Skills: Expertise in coatings chemistry, formulation, performance testing, and eco-friendly alternatives.

  • Soft Skills: Leadership, problem-solving, and strong communication skills.
