Job Opening – Head of Production

We are looking for an experienced Head of Production for a reputed rubber manufacturing plant in India.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for managing and controlling the plant’s production operations.
• Plan, organize, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production activities to achieve production targets.
• Ensure production is completed as per planned quantity, quality, delivery schedules, and customer requirements.
• Manage the complete production team, including manpower planning, shift allocation, productivity, and performance monitoring.
• Develop and implement production plans based on customer orders and capacity.
• Monitor production processes and identify bottlenecks, delays, wastage, and productivity issues.
• Improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity and reduce production costs.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, raw materials, and other resources.
• Monitor and control production wastage, rejection, downtime, and material consumption.
• Work closely with the Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Purchase, Planning, and Dispatch teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
• Ensure machines and production equipment are properly utilized and coordinate with the Maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Maintain production-related records, MIS, reports, and KPIs for management review.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives, process improvements, and cost-reduction measures.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety procedures, and statutory requirements.
• Identify operational problems and take corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and motivate the production team and ensure discipline and effective manpower utilization.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and standard manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with senior management regarding production performance, capacity planning, manpower requirements, and operational challenges.

Candidate Requirements:

• 15+ years of overall experience in manufacturing/production.
• Candidates with strong experience in rubber manufacturing, rubber processing, rubber products, rubber components, or related industries will be preferred.
• Should have experience handling plant-level production operations and a sizeable production team.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, process control, productivity improvement, quality management, and cost control.
• Experience in handling production targets, manpower, machinery, raw materials, and production KPIs.
• Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work closely with cross-functional departments and senior management.
• Candidates currently working as Head of Production, Production Head, Plant Head, General Manager – Production, Senior Production Manager, or similar positions may be considered.

Preferred Experience:
Candidates who have hands-on experience in rubber manufacturing processes, production machinery, moulding/processing, compounding, mixing, curing/vulcanizing, extrusion, or other relevant rubber production processes would be preferred, depending on the plant’s product line.

Important: Candidates should have strong practical exposure to production and plant operations, rather than only planning or supervisory experience.
