About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Director to lead the finance function of a growing organization in the maritime and shipping industry. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in financial planning, accounting, treasury, compliance, budgeting, and strategic financial management, preferably within shipping, marine, logistics, or related industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall finance and accounting function and provide strategic financial guidance to senior management.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, financial plans, and cash-flow projections.
• Oversee financial reporting, management accounts, MIS, and statutory reporting.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, treasury, banking relationships, and financial controls.
• Monitor business performance and provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, taxation, statutory requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
• Lead annual audits and coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks, and other financial institutions.
• Develop and strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and risk-management processes.
• Review commercial contracts, investments, capital expenditure, and major business proposals from a financial perspective.
• Partner with operations and commercial teams to improve profitability and cost efficiency.
• Lead and mentor the finance team and ensure effective finance operations.

Maritime Industry Exposure

Experience in one or more of the following areas will be an advantage:

• Shipping / Ship Management
• Marine Services
• Port & Logistics
• Vessel Operations
• Shipbuilding / Ship Repair
• Offshore / Marine Engineering
• Maritime Trading

Candidate Profile

• 12–18+ years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounting.
• Experience in a Finance Head / Financial Controller / Finance Director / CFO capacity preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, MIS, treasury, taxation, and compliance.
• Excellent understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, working capital, and financial controls.
• Strong leadership, analytical, commercial, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Strong proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel.

Qualification

CA / CMA / MBA Finance / Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
