Chief Safety Officer (HSSE / EHS)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Chief Safety Officer (HSSE / EHS) to lead enterprise-wide safety, health, security, and environmental strategy for a large cement manufacturing organization in Maharashtra. This is a leadership role responsible for driving zero-harm culture, statutory compliance, and world-class safety standards across multiple plants and projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement group-level HSSE / EHS strategy aligned with business goals
• Ensure compliance with Factories Act, Environment Protection Act, DGMS, and other statutory norms
• Lead risk management, safety governance, and crisis response frameworks
• Oversee plant audits, safety reviews, incident investigations, and corrective actions
• Drive behavior-based safety (BBS) and continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead and mentor plant safety heads and site EHS teams
• Act as key liaison with regulatory bodies, auditors, and senior leadership
• Present safety performance, KPIs, and risk dashboards to Board / CXO level

Candidate Profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Engineering with Postgraduate qualification in Industrial Safety
• 15–25 years of HSSE / EHS leadership experience in cement or large heavy manufacturing
• Strong exposure to multi-plant operations and large workforce environments
• Proven track record in zero-incident culture, audits, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership presence
