Job Objective

To run a servo-driven six-colour stack flexo printing machine independently and produce consistent, acceptable print quality with minimum wastage. The operator is responsible for correct plate mounting on a plate mounter, stable registration, colour control, and safe operation of the machine as per production requirements.

Role and Responsibilities

• The operator will set up and operate a servo-driven six-colour stack flexo press independently. This includes loading the substrate, selecting and fitting the correct anilox rollers, preparing inks, setting impression pressure, and bringing the job to approval.
• The operator will mount flexographic plates on the plate mounter, check repeat length, alignment, and registration, and correct any mounting errors before starting production. Plates must be handled carefully to avoid damage.
• During production, the operator will continuously check print quality and control issues such as print missing, shade variation, banding, streaks, smudging, or registration movement. The operator will make necessary adjustments to maintain stable print quality.
• The operator will handle inks, including shade matching, viscosity control, circulation, and drying performance. Ink levels and condition must be maintained throughout the run.
• The operator will carry out routine cleaning of the machine, anilox, trays, and surrounding area. Basic machine checks and first-level troubleshooting of printing or mechanical issues are part of the role. Major problems must be reported to the supervisor or maintenance team.
• The operator will follow all safety rules, housekeeping standards, and operating instructions. Job cards, shift records, and quality logs must be filled correctly.

Skills and Experience

The operator must have hands-on experience on servo-driven stack flexo printing machines and practical experience in plate mounting using a plate mounter. A good understanding of registration, colour control, ink transfer, and drying is required.

Education and Experience

ITI or Diploma in Printing Technology, Mechanical, or related field preferred. Minimum three to six years of experience on stack flexo printing machines, preferably six-colour or above.

Performance Expectations

Stable print quality, low start-up and running wastage, timely job changeovers, correct plate mounting, safe machine operation, and adherence to production targets.
