Head of Human Resources
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer / Chief Operating Officer / Managing Director
Location: Mumbai
Employment Type: Full-time
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Head of Human Resources to lead our HR function and drive people strategy that supports business growth, talent excellence, and an engaging organizational culture. This role is a strategic leadership position responsible for shaping all aspects of human resources—from recruitment and development to culture, performance, and compliance.
You will collaborate closely with the executive team to build a high-performing, inclusive, and future-ready organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and execute HR strategy aligned with business objectives and growth roadmap.
- Advise senior leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and culture initiatives.
- Anticipate future HR needs and recommend proactive people strategies.
- Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead end-to-end recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
- Build workforce planning models for scalability and future growth.
- Enhance employer branding and maintain strong talent pipelines.
- Performance, Learning & Development
- Implement performance management frameworks aligned with business goals.
- Drive learning, leadership, and succession development initiatives.
- Identify training needs and measure program effectiveness.
- Employee Engagement & Culture
- Foster a strong, values-driven culture and enhance employee experience.
- Lead engagement, recognition, and retention programs.
- Champion Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) efforts.
- Compensation, Benefits & Rewards
- Design competitive compensation and benefits programs.
- Benchmark salary structures and manage rewards budgets.
- Partner with finance for HR and rewards budgeting.
- Employee Relations & Compliance
- Oversee HR policies, handbooks, and ensure statutory compliance.
- Handle complex employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary cases.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws and audit requirements.
- HR Operations & Technology
- Optimize HR systems and workflows (HRIS, ATS, performance tools).
- Oversee HR data, reporting, and analytics for decision-making.
- Track key HR metrics and present insights to leadership.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with department heads and business leaders.
- Drive change management during organizational transitions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (MBA / Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in scaling HR functions within fast-paced or high-growth environments.
- Deep understanding of labor laws, HR technology, and people analytics.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated success in organizational design and culture building.
