Job role:- Factory Manager
Experiences – 10 yrs
Reporting to – General Manager
Job Summary
The Factory Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating total factory operations, including production, logistics, maintenance, administration, and HR. This role ensures compliance with all labor, safety, and environmental policies and regulations, maintaining a clean and safe plant while optimizing productivity and quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Production Planning and Management: Plan production schedules, worker assignments, production activities, machine maintenance plans, and maintain product quality and budgets.
- Formulate, organize, control, and direct production activities to meet targets.
Safety and Standards Compliance:
- Observe and ensure effective maintenance of safety rules and standards by the workforce.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant plant environment.
Resource Management:
- Manage timelines, work priorities, and allocate resources to meet factory deadlines and production targets.
- Monitor and control plant operating budgets for repairs and maintenance.
- Monitor and control stores and spares inventory budget.
Quality Assurance:
- Design, implement, and audit quality control procedures.
- Ensure end products meet quality specifications.
- Supervise and enforce quality standards and control procedures.
Training and Development:
- Provide training to meet new program and policy requirements.
- Review overall performance and identify training needs for production personnel.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Develop and update technical documents, including instruction and procedure manuals.
Systems and Process Optimization:
- Develop systems and processes to track and optimize productivity, standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
Public Relations:
- Initiate and maintain good relations with local authorities, departments, and private sector businesses.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in the edible oils industry is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Proficient in production management software and tools.
- Strong knowledge of safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
